(March 13, 2024) – The CSGA is excited to announce that Bob Sparks and Michele Guerrera have joined the staff.
“For any organization that strives to build an excellent team, adding key people to a staff is essential. Bringing on an experienced CPA like Michele Guerrera is a huge plus for our organization to fill the retirement of Dave Seaman who worked as our controller for more than two decades,” said CSGA Executive Director, Mike Moraghan. “And adding Bob Sparks who the CSGA has had a great relationship with for the last 20 years when Bob has worked as a head professional is fantastic for the CSGA. Bob is respected throughout Connecticut and knows the golf business as well as anyone in the state. He is going to be a tremendous asset to our association in a variety of ways. And beyond their impressive credentials, Michele and Bob are both just really good people who are a real pleasure to work with.”
Bob Sparks, a longtime PGA professional and currently the president of the Connecticut Section PGA, will join the CSGA staff as the Director of Tournaments, Public and Junior Golf.
Sparks, who is Golf Genius certified, is currently the President of the Connecticut Section PGA and has served on the board since 2015. Most recently Sparks spent three seasons as the head professional at Torrington Country Club and before that, he spent 20 years at Fairview Farm Golf Course, and two years at the Hartford Golf Club.
Since 2014 Sparks, a Class A PGA Member for 25 years, has been the U.S. Kids Golf Hartford Local Director and that same year he was voted Connecticut Section PGA Junior Golf leader. Sparks has also served on the National PGA Junior Development Committee from 2020-present.
Sparks lives in Torrington with his wife of 33 years Tammy, and their two boys, Nicholas (26) and Carson (23).
Michele Guerrera has joined the CSGA as the new controller. Guerrera, a CPA and a graduate of the University of Connecticut, also currently works at the Connecticut Museum of Culture and History as an Accounting Assistant. Previously, Guerrera worked as the Finance Director for the New England Affiliate of Susan G. Komen.
Guerrera lives in Farmington with her husband and three boys. When she isn’t driving her kids to various activities Guerrera enjoys reading in her free time.
