(July 3, 2024) – With a pair of under-par rounds Chris Flowers and Craig Platt captured the Tallwood Country Club One Day Tournament sponsored by Chris Cote’s Golf Shop.
In the Tettlebach Gross Division, Chris Flower turned in a stellar 5 under 67 to earn a one-shot victory over John Murphy III (-4).
Flower’s day was highlighted by a pair of eagles. His first came on the 302-yard par-4 second with his second coming on the 511-yard par-5 11th. Flowers also sprinkled in two birdies to go along with his two eagles while bogeying twice.
The top five was rounded out by Rammi Hazzaa (-2) in third, Joseph Cox (-1) in fourth, and Chet Hrostek (E) in fifth.
Leading the way in the Siderowf Gross Division was Craig Platt with a 1 under 71. Platt was cruising along and had it as low as 3 under but a double bogey on No. 17 dropped him back to 1 under before he settled back down to secure his under-par finish and two-shot victory over Brian Geary (+1).
Platt bogeyed the opening hole of his round but played the next 15 holes in 4 under to vault up the leaderboard. His birdies fell on Nos. 3, 8, 10, 13, and 16.
In the Tettelbach Net Division Cox (-7) earned the top spot followed by Murphy III (-5) in second place. Ben Shorten (-4) was third while Dan Cooksey, Hrostek, and Hazzaa shared fourth at 3 under.
Leading the way in the Siderowf Net Division was Joseph Worthen at 4 under, Scott Harger was second at 2 under, Gary Mattesen and Frank Geiger were third at 1 under while Frank Flood, Mike Noel, and Jack Bracken all tied for fifth with even par tallies.
