The CSGA and The Back9 Network recently announced a partnership in which the two organizations would collaborate on the production of “Connecticut-centric” golf stories for worldwide distribution via the internet. The first such effort, a portrayal of Bob Ferrarotti and his Fairview Farm Golf Course in Harwinton has been released.
We’re very happy with this first effort,” said CSGA Executive Director, Mike Moraghan. “The folks at Back9 do excellent work. Their production values are top of the line and they incorporate subtleties into their work that make for first-rate story telling.” Moraghan, who spent many years in television production prior to coming to the CSGA, was excited that the Ferrarotti-Fairview Farm story was the first to be produced.
“I’ve always been a big Bob Ferrarotti fan,” said Moraghan, “he might just be the hardest working person I’ve ever known. When he fell in love with golf in the 1970’s and bought Stonybrook Golf Course he literally transformed the place with his bare hands. Stonybrook was a scruffy place with stones and rocks just beneath the surface of every fairway. You could ruin a set of clubs in just nine holes. Bob remade it into a lovely place and then created a real gem in Fairview Farm.”
Future CSGA-Back9 productions will appear monthly and be featured on both the Back9 website, and in the CSGA’s monthly digital magazine, The CSGA Links.
