Madison, Connecticut (September 3o, 2026) – Defending champion Bob Murphy, Jr. opened with a 1-under 69 on day one of the 81st Connecticut Senior Amateur. Murphy, Jr. will now carry a two-shot lead into the final day at Madison Country Club with his eyes set on a third title in the last four years.

The third-place group includes David Marshall (Quinnatisett CC), Dave Jones (Mohegan Sun GC), who won the 2022 Senior Match Play Championship at Madison CC, Jim Patterson (Gillette Ridge GC), Chris Maxwell (Tunxis CC), and Shaun Sullivan (Indian Hill CC).
Play at the 81st Connecticut Senior Amateur will resume at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday morning. The top 39 players and ties made the cut and will play in the shotgun start final round.
