Tickets on Sale for 2021 U.S. Senior Women’s Open at Brooklawn

Fairfield, Connecticut – Fans will have the opportunity to watch some of golf’s greatest players next month as tickets for the 3rd U.S. Senior Women’s Open Championship are now on sale. The championship, conducted by the United States Golf Association (USGA), will be held in the state of Connecticut for the first time at Brooklawn Country Club in Fairfield, July 29-Aug. 1, 2021.

Good-any-one-day Gallery tickets for all four championship rounds are available for $20. The good-any-one-day ticket option gives fans the flexibility to attend on the day of their choice. Daily Gallery tickets include access to food and beverages for sale on the course from a variety of local food truck vendors as well as complimentary parking. Juniors (age 18 and under) will receive free admission with a ticketed adult.

The U.S. Senior Women’s Open Championship offers fans the unique and exciting experience of walking inside the ropes. Each Gallery ticket provides attendees the opportunity to see the action up-close and walk the fairways with some of golf’s legends, including defending champion Helen Alfredsson, 2018 champion Laura Davies, three-time U.S. Women’s Open champion Annika Sorenstam and two-time U.S. Women’s Open champion Juli Inkster, among others.

Sorenstam, who turned 50 last October, will be making her first start in a USGA championship since the 2008 U.S. Women’s Open, when she holed out her final shot – a 6-iron from 199 yards – to cap her illustrious career in that championship.

Joining Sorenstam in their U.S. Senior Women’s Open debuts will be 2021 Solheim Cup captains Pat Hurst and Catriona Matthew, who have also become age-eligible since the championship was last contested in 2019. Sorenstam defeated Hurst in 2006 in an 18-hole playoff at Newport (R.I.) Country Club for her third Women’s Open title. This year’s field features 11 U.S. Women’s Open champions in all, including Sorenstam, Inkster, Davies, three-time champion Hollis Stacy, two-time champions JoAnne Carner and Amy Alcott, and Jan Stephenson.

The USGA and the Annika Foundation will host a “Share My Passion” clinic on Tuesday, July 27 at Brooklawn, where 40 girls between the ages of 6 and 14 will rotate through stations taught by Sorenstam and other instructors who will cover the fundamentals of driving, putting and the importance of fitness. Participants and a parent or guardian will also receive complimentary admission to watch Tuesday’s practice-round action.

The 2021 U.S. Senior Women’s Open will be the third USGA Open championship and fifth overall USGA championship hosted by Brooklawn. The club hosted the 1979 U.S. Women’s Open, won by Jerilyn Britz, who will compete in this year’s U.S. Senior Women’s Open. Brooklawn also held the 1974 U.S. Junior Amateur, won by David Nevatt; the 1987 U.S. Senior Open, won by Gary Player; and the 2003 U.S. Girls’ Junior, won by Sukjin-Lee Wuesthoff.

The U.S. Senior Women’s Open Championship is for golfers age 50 and older and is open to any professional and any amateur with a Handicap Index® not exceeding 7.4.
