(July 5, 2023) – A strong field will compete in the 2nd Connecticut Girls’ Junior at Fairview Farm Golf Course from July 11-12.
“Being able to call Fairview Farm the host facility for the 2023 Connecticut Girls’ Junior is a great honor,” golf teaching professional Jim Bunel said. “Being able to showcase the best junior golfers our state has to offer is an opportunity we look forward to as not just a golf staff, but also as a community.”
The field will be tasked with battling a par-72 5,700-yard layout that will require players to be sharp with all aspects of their game. However, Bunel believes course management will be extremely important to the success of the field.
“I would expect the course to play fast but fair. Our superintendent Scott Neumann and his staff do a tremendous job at keeping the course in excellent shape. What I love about Fairview Farm GC is that the final two holes can make or break your round based on decision making. We have the ability to really change the course around from day to day making it a true test of a champion.”
The 2nd Connecticut Girls’ Junior will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday morning with the final round scheduled to follow on Wednesday.

Players to Watch:
Aoife Devaney (CC of Waterbury): Last year Devaney earned a spot in the U.S. Girls’ Junior.
Mia Holbrook (Silver Spring CC): The 2021 Borck Junior winner finished in third place last year at the Connecticut Girls’ Junior. She also had a strong showing at the Connecticut Women’s Amateur finishing in a tie for fourth.
CC Kaplan (Burning Tree CC): A member of last year’s victorious New England Girl’s Junior team, Kaplan held the lead at times during the final round of the Connecticut Girl’s Junior before finishing second.
Arabella Lopez (Redding CC): In 2022 Lopez won the New England Girl’s Junior individual and team title. In CSGA events she finished T7 at the Connecticut Girls’ Junior and was near the top late into the first round at the Connecticut Women’s Open presented by Crescent Point Private Wealth.
Laniah Moffett (EClub of Connecticut): In 2022 Moffett captured the Bork Junior at Woodway CC.
Kenna Roman (Shuttle Meadow CC): Last year Roman finished tied for fourth at the Connecticut Girls’ Junior. At the 2022 Connecticut Women’s Open presented by Crescent Point Private Wealth she recorded a hole-in-one.
