Beal, Rizy Take Chippanee CC One Day Titles

Bristol, Connecticut (May 10, 2022) – Justin Beal ran away with the title in the Tettelbach Open Division while Randy Rizy claimed the victory in the Siderowf Gross Division at the Chippanee Country Club One Day Tournament presented by Chris Cote’s Golf Shop.

Beal, who won the Mill River CC One Day in 2021, carded an even-par 70 on brilliantly sunny but breezy day to win by six shots over Rudy Hermstadt (+6). Steady throughout the round Beal was 2-over through 15 holes before catching fire late with consecutive birdies on Nos. 16 and 17.

Ben Palazzo (+7) was third, Jeff Riley (+8) was fourth while last week’s winner at the Country Club of Farmington Anthony Salvador (+9) took fifth.

In the Siderowf Gross Division Rizy signed for a 3-over 73 that left him two clear of three players tied for second at 5-over. Rizy played his best in the middle portion of his round birdieing three-times between Nos. 8-14.

The group tied for second included Peter Davison, Bill Hermanson, and Mike Spicci. Todd Schaller was fifth at 5-over.

In the Tettelbach Net Division Hermstadt finished 4-under to earn the title. Adam Pogorzelski was third at 2-under, Beal and Jay Sharkey shared third at 1-over while Richard Chance and Derek Chylinki tied for fifth at 2-over.

Leading the way in the Siderowf Net Division were Blasé Sanzone and Spicci at 2-under. Alden Foss, Rich Novacki, Schaller, and Jay Nickse shared third at 1-under to round out the top-five.

Note: Thanks to Director of Golf Gary Sassu and his staff for a great day!
