Old Lyme, Connecticut (June 11, 2022) – Andrew Beauton, Anna Lemcke, and Libby Dunn earned CIAC Open Championship titles on Saturday afternoon at Black Hall Club.
In the Boys Division Guilford freshman Andrew Beauton fired a stellar 1-under 70 to capture the title by one shot over Ellington junior Bradley Sawka while East Windsor sophomore Ryan Willey and St. Paul Catholic junior Matthew Downes shared third palace at 2-over.
Beginning on the sixth hole Beauton played a solid round carding two birdies and just one bogey. His birdies came in succession on Nos. 13 and 14.
In the Girls Division Staples senior Anna Lemcke earned her share of the title with a 7-over 79. Lemcke rolled in birdies on Nos. 2 and 8.
Dunn, a winner last year at the CIAC Open, played a steady round on her way to a first place tie. The Berlin junior’s lone birdie of the day came on the par-5 8th.
Chesire junior Syndey Hidalgo was third at 8-over.
