Dave Jones Among Keney Park GC One Day Winners

(September 3, 2024) – At the Keney Park Golf Course One Day Tournament sponsored by Chris Cote’s Golf Shop Dave Jones went low to win the Siderowf Gross Division while Steven Langlois and John Murphy III shared the Tettelbach Gross Division title.

For the fourth time this year, Dave Jones has captured the Siderowf Gross Division title. On a gorgeous early September day, Jones played a nearly flawless round of golf recording six birdies and just one bogey to sign for a 5 under 65.

Results

Jones, who finished T9 at the Connecticut Public Links less than a month ago at Keney Park GC, converted his birdies on Nos. 2, 3, 12, 13, 14, and 18.

Dean Godek and Bart Wiseman were the only other players to finish under par as they carded 1 under 69s to share second place. Kieran Kilkenny and James Lawler signed for even par 70s to tie for fourth.

In the Tettelbach Gross Division Steven Langlois and John Murphy III, both shot 1 over 71s to share the title by one shot over third-place finisher Rammi Hazza (+2).

Langlois began his day with a 3 over 38 before rebounding for a flawless back nine 2 under 33. His back nine birdies dropped came on the par-5 10th and par-4 16th.

Murphy III had an up-and-down day as he recorded one birdie, an eagle on the par-5 14th, while also dropping shots with four bogeys.

The top five was rounded out by Ronald Soccoli, Chris Szymonik, and Chris Maxwell in a tie for fourth at 4 over.

Three players – Jesse Flores, Langlois, and John Swaney – all finished 2 under to tie for first place in the Tettelbach Net Division. Two shots back at even par in a tie for fourth were Szymonik and Nicholas Palumbo.

Leading the way in the Siderof Net Division was Kilkenny at 6 under followed by Nick Snyder and Dave Jones in a tie for second at 2 under. Greg Pansa (-2) was fourth followed by five players in a tie for fifth at 1 under. The fifth-place group was comprised of Tom Cutone, Brewster Earle, Vincent Grillo, Weissman, and Lawler.
