(November 25, 2024) – Year after year Dave Jones lets his play do the talking and 2024 was no different. The 62 year-old teed it up in 14 CSGA events in 2024 and earned a remarkable 13 top-10 finishes including four wins, two runner-up finishes, and four third-place showings. When the math was complete it all added up to Jones’ third Dick Siderowf Senior Player of the Year award.
This year Jones earned four One Day titles, tied for third in the Siderowf Division at the Tournament of Champions, and finished T9 at the Connecticut Public Links while also qualifying for both the Julius Boros Challenge Cup and Tri-State teams. Nationally, Jones qualified for his sixth USGA championship, the 70th U.S. Senior Amateur.

“The U.S. Senior Amateur at The Honors Course in Chattanooga was perhaps the most special (of the six I have competed in),” expressed Jones. “The course was just fantastic, the USGA experience is second to none as far as treatment towards the players.”
Away from the golf course, Jones enjoys boating, working on his home, skiing, and spending time with his family and friends. That time away from the course helps Jones, a member at Mohegan Sun Golf Club, reach his full potential on the course.
“Winning the Player of the Year award for the third time is very special simply because it is so hard to win at golf,” said Jones who also won the award in 2021 and 2022. “To win you have to be really consistent from the first event to the last event because of the quality and depth of the talented CSGA senior players.”
