Dave Jones Wins Fourth Dick Siderowf Senior Player of the Year Award

Dave Jones

(November 25, 2025) – In 2021, Dave Jones won the Dick Siderowf Senior Player of the Year award for the first time. Fast forward to 2025, and after another stellar season, Jones has now won the award a remarkable four out of five years.

“Winning the Dick Siderowf Senior Player of the Year award is humbling because it is very hard to win anything in golf,” Dave Jones expressed. “Earning my fourth Dick Siderowf Senior Player of the Year award this year was very meaningful because I had to earn it by playing well in the last event of the year at the Tournament of Champions.”

2025 Dick Siderowf Senior Player of the Year Standings

To nobody’s surprise, Jones rose to the occasion at the season-ending tournament, finishing third to secure player of the year honors. Overall, in 2025, Jones competed in 18 events, earning three One Day titles, including the Siderowf Gross Division at the Al Acker Championship to go along with a runner-up finish at the Senior Match Play and a T4 showing at the Connecticut Senior Amateur. In total, Jones earned 12 top-10 finishes in 2025.

For Jones, the highlight of his year was playing on his seventh career Tri-State and fifth career Julius Boros Challenge Cup teams. “There is such a feeling of pride wearing the CSGA team uniform,” said Jones, who, after a long teaching career, now works in the pro shop at Connecticut National Golf Course. “It is a great honor and privilege and something I certainly never take for granted.”

Whether it is golf, spending time with his companion Maura, or enjoying one of his many hobbies away from golf, Jones never takes anything for granted. His life experiences allow him to put everything into perspective. That perspective is what enables him to excel on the golf course year after year.
