Ending With an Exclamation Point

Maisie Filler

(November 21, 2024) – With her amateur career winding down Maisie Filler returned to her roots. One of the top amateurs in the world Filler lived in Bloomfield until she was 16 years old when she moved to Palm Beach Gardens, Florida to continue pursuing her golf career.

In Florida, her golf continued to flourish and out of high school, she committed to the University of Florida. At Florida Filler thrived earning All-SEC and All-American honors, and during her senior year she won three individual titles. Filler also competed in two Augusta Women’s National Amateurs and in 2024 she tied for eighth.

However, through it all the Fillers kept their house in Bloomfield and maintained their membership at Hartford Golf Club. So when the opportunity following graduation in the spring of 2024 arose to compete in the 59th Connecticut Women’s Amateur Filler couldn’t pass up the chance.

In her return to CSGA play, Filler didn’t disappoint as she captured the title in dominant fashion. That victory along with her Round of 16 run at the U.S. Women’s Amateur and appearance in the U.S. Women’s Open propelled Filler to her first career Liz Janangelo Caron Women’s Player of the Year award.

The award will serve as the exclamation point to her stellar amateur career and as one of the many springboards into her next chapter. Professional golf.

“I am looking forward to the challenge,” Filler said. “I know it will be difficult but I am excited to give it my all. It will be cool, and I’ll learn a lot.”
