Four Qualify for 75th U.S. Junior Amateur

Sherman, Connecticut (June 20, 2023) – Four players earned spots in the 75th U.S. Junior Amateur on Tuesday at The Club at River Oaks. The 2023 U.S. Junior Amateur will be played from July 24-29 at the Daniel Island Club in South Carolina.

Medalist honors were earned by Emile Lebrun who fired the lone under-par round of the day signing for a 1-under 71. For Lebrun, it was a steady round of golf for the first 14 holes before he found another gear down the stretch. 1-over with four holes remaining Lebrun was impressive late carding birdies on Nos. 15 and 16 before parring the final two holes.

Final Results

The lone Connecticut player to advance was University of Rhode Island commit Luke Stennett. One of three survivors of a 5-for-3 playoff at even-par, Stennett had a mixed bag of a round which included an eagle, five birdies, three bogeys, and two double-bogeys.

Stennett was matched at even par by Connor Allard and Sam Fuentes. Allard birdied three times and bogeyed three times while Fuentes birdied four times and bogeyed four times. Fuentes birdied his final hole of the day to reach the playoff.

Two alternate spots were awarded on Tuesday with Robby Rosati earning first alternate status along with AJ Depaolo who finished as the second alternate.
