Grant, Maxwell, Jones Winners at Shennecossett One Day

Dave Jones won his fourth Siderwof Gross Division title.

Groton, Connecticut (September 12, 2022) – Dillon Grant and Chris Maxwell shared the Tettelbach Open Division while Dave Jones won yet another Siderowf Gross Division title at the Shennecossett Golf Course One Day Tournament presented by Chris Cote’s Golf Shop.

Grant and Maxwell both fired 1-under 70s to earn a one shot victory over four other players. 2-over after 16 holes Grant finished in a flurry with a birdie, his third of the day, on the par-4 17th and an eagle on the closing par-5.

Final Results

Maxwell had an up-and-down front nine that resulted in a 1-under 35. Last year’s Player of the Year only parred two holes on the front nine with the rest either birdies or bogeys. His birdies came on Nos. 2, 5, 7, and 8.

Third place was shared by Steven Langlois, Kyle Nolin, Elvin Lorenzo, and Ronald Soccoli at even-par.

Dave Jones turned in a stellar 5-under 66 to capture the Siderowf Gross Division for the fourth time this season. Jones came out of the gates firing on all cylinders birdieing his first two holes on his way to a five birdie, one bogey 4-under 32 front nine. On the back nine Jones was 1-over with three holes remaining before closing with birdies on Nos. 16 and 18.

Kevin Foster (-1) was second while John Aspinwall, Mark Toscano, Ray Underwood, Richard Stevens, Tom Cutone, and Mark Vasington shared third at even-par.

The Tettelbach Net Division was won by Elvin Lorenzo and Glenn Pelt, Jr. at 6-under. Soccoli (-3) was third, Langlois (-2) was fourth, while Grant, Chris Szymonik, David Kramer, Bret Lawrence, Thomas Cox, and Maxwell tied for fifth at 1-under.

In the Siderowf Net Division Ken Sweitzer, Underwood, and Cutone tied for first at 3-under. Mark Toscano and Nick Snyder were fourth at 2-under.
