Redding, Connecticut (August 15, 2022) – On a picture perfect day at the Redding Country Club One Day Tournament presented by Chris Cote’s Golf Shop the Tettelbach Open Division title went to Patrick Griffin while in the Siderowf Gross Division Joseph Romanelli and Peter Davison shared the top spot.
Griffin, a past One Day Player of the Year, shot an even-par 71 to finish three shots in front of last year’s Tettelbach Division Player of the Year Chris Maxwell (+3).
Following a bogey, on the opening hole, Griffin played a solid round highlighted by birdies on Nos. 2, 5, and 14. The victory was Griffin’s first of 2022.
A group of seven players tied for third place at 4-over including Eric Bleile, Jason Longo, Kyle Nolin, Giovanni Luongo, Ronald Soccoli, Chad Lavinio, and Thomas Lavinio.
In the Siderowf Gross Division Joseph Romanelli and Peter Davison shared the top spot at 5-over 76. For each player, it was their first One Day title of the year.
Romanelli had two triple bogeys on his scorecard to go along with three bogeys but also had four birdies including three in a four hole stretch between Nos. 2-5. His final birdie dropped on the par-5 12th hole.
Davison had a triple bogey himself to go along with three bogeys however he played a much steadier round for much of the day. His lone birdie came on the par-4 fifth. For Davison, the victory comes after he had knocked on the door a number of times this season in One Day events finishing in a tie for second twice and also recording a T4 finish.
Tim Stilson and Michael Byrne tied for third at 7-over with Rich Dickinson, Richard Shildneck, and Tom Brett posting 8-over to tie for fifth.
The victory in the Tettelbach Net Division went to Mario Argentino (-7) while Griffin (E) and Adam Pogorzelski (E) tied for second. Soccoli, Chad and Thomas Lavinio shared fourth at 1-over.
In the Siderowf Net Division Stilson took home the title with a 1-under finish. Jeffrey Russell (E) was second, Gary Galasso and Greg Larocque shared third at 1-over with Alden Foss (+2) in fifth.
