Berlin, Connecticut (August 9, 2023) – Keith Salamon (Middletown, CT) turned in a 1-under 71 to earn medalist honors at 68th U.S. Senior Amateur Qualifying hosted by Timberlin Golf Club.
Salamon began his round in fine form with a birdie on the 550-yard opening par-5 and then continued his quick start with additional birdies on Nos. 3 and 6 to reach 3-under. Once well into the red Salamon continued to play steady golf for the remainder of the round only giving back single shots on Nos. 8 and 15.
In addition to Salamon both John Hadges (North Easton, MA) and Garry Singer (North Salem, NY) earned spots in the field at the 68th U.S. Senior Amateur set to be played from August 26-31 at the the Omni Homestead Resort’s Cascades Course in Virginia.
Hadges qualified with an even-par 72 while Singer finished with a 1-over 73 and then survived a 3-for-1 playoff. Todd Ezold (Westfield, MA) and Alberto Agrest (Greenwich, CT) finished as the first and second alternates.
