James Lawler Wins Litchfield CC One Day

Litchfield, Connecticut (July 7, 2022) – With a 1-under 69 James Lawler claimed the Siderowf Division One Day Tournament presented by Chris Cote’s Golf Shop.

In order to accommodate the field at the nine hole Litchfield Country Club there were two shotgun starts with Lawler playing in the morning wave at 8:30 a.m.

Results

Beginning on the par-4 seventh Lawler, a quarterfinalist at this year’s Senior Match Play Championship played an impressive round of golf carding four birdies and three bogeys. His first birdie dropped on the 10th before adding additional birdies Nos. 12, 17, and 1.

The birdie on No. 1 proved to be the difference maker as he inched out a one shot victory over Craig Platt, Dave Jones, and Jeff Dolin all of whom tied for second at even-par. Gary Mattesen, Paul Stancs, Terry Ruzzo, and Tom Brett shared fifth at 1-over.

In the Net Division, Scott Harger earned the title with a 7-under finish. Michael O’Neill was second at 3-under while Mike Spicci, Lawler, and Stancs shared third at 2-under.
