Waterbury, Connecticut (August 1, 2022) – The titles at the Country Club of Waterbury One Day Tournament presented by Chris Cote’s Golf Shop went to Chris Lombardo and Craig Platt.
Chris Lombardo claimed the Tettelbach Open Division by a commanding four shots thanks to a 3-over 72. Lombardo, who tied for third at the Ellington Ridge CC One Day, began his day with four consecutive pars before he birdied the par-5 fifth for his first birdie of the day. His second birdie of the round came on the par-4 17th. Overall Lombardo birdied twice, bogeyed three times, and double-bogeyed once.
Second place was shared by Jeff Delucia, Marshall Barnes, Ryan Wessendorf, and Anthony Salavador at 7-over.
2021 Senior Match Play winner Craig Platt turned in an impressive 1-over 70 to win the Siderowf Gross Division. Platt birdied Nos. 8 and 9 to turn in even-par 35 and then played the back nine in 1-over 35. His lone birdie on the back nine came on the par-4 14th.
Two shots behind in a tie for second at 3-over were Peter Davison, Jeff Dolin, Dave Jones, Bill Hermanson, and Tony Susi.
In the Tettelbach Net Division Ryan Luby and Elvin Lorenzo shared the top spot at 2-under with Wessendorf, Lombardo, and Walter Keuchkerian II all finishing even-par to tie for third.
Pacing the field in the Siderowf Net Division was Bob Detrick with a 6-under 63 followed by Jim Caturano (-4) in second, Platt (-1) in third, Carl Musante (E) in fourth and six others in a tie for fifth at 1-over. The fifth place group included Tom Hurd, Rick Lawrence, Nick Snyder, Rick Jusko, Mark Gilhuly, and Susi.
