Maxwell, Jones Capture Clinton CC One Day Titles

Clinton, Connecticut (June 13, 2022) – On a hot mid-June day Chris Maxwell and Dave Jones captured the titles at the Clinton Country Club One Day Tournament presented by Chris Cote’s Golf Shop.

Maxwell, the reigning Tettelbach Open Division Player of the Year, picked up his first victory of the season with a 1-over 73. On Monday Maxwell began his day with a birdie, the first of four on the day. Maxwell played his best golf on the back nine firing a 1-under 35 that included two birdies and just one bogey.

Anthony Salvador (+2) was second in the Tettelbach Open Division while Kevin Klepacki, Ronald Soccoli, and Josh Ingham shared third at 5-over.

Less than two weeks after winning the 16th Senior Match Play Championship Dave Jones cruised to the Siderowf Gross Division title with the lone under-par round of the day, a 2-under 70. It was his first One Day victory of the year after winning five in 2021.

Jones birdied once and bogeyed once on the front nine to turn in even-par before catching fire on the back nine. Last season’s Dick Siderowf Player of the Year began the second nine with consecutive birdies setting the tone for a four birdie, two bogey side that resulted in a 2-under 34. Overall Jones rolled in five birdies on the day.

Jim O’Brien and Rick Lawrence were second at 1-over while Jim Fortsch, Bill Hermanson, and Patrick McGuiness shared fourth at 3-over.

Final Results

In the Tettelbach Net Division Adam Pogorzelski earned the title with a 3-under 69, Salvador (-2) was second, Erin Kinney (-1) took third, Maxwell (+1) was fourth, in a tie for fifth were Anthony Barbieri and Keith Salamon at 2-over.

The Siderowf Net Division was won by Nick Snyder (-7), Tom Hurd (-4) was second while O’Brien, Bill Wininger, and Mike Kraczkowsky finished 3-under in a tie for third.
