The Chris Cote One Day Tournament Series kicks off Monday, April 8, at Wethersfield Country Club. Registration opens Tuesday, March 26th, at 7:00 a.m.
This marks an earlier start to registration than in previous years. In 2019 players will be able to sign up 12 or 13 days in advance of each event, with registration then closing one week prior to it. For example, registration for the April 8, Wethersfield One Day, will open on Tuesday, March 26 at 7:00 a.m., and will end Monday, April 1 at 12noon.

One Day tournaments, with an entry fee of $75 including cart, are open to men and women of all skill levels. Competition is divided into four divisions: gross and net in both open (Tettelbach) and senior (Siderowf) divisions. (The senior division is open to players 55 and older). Merchandise prizes redeemable at the host club are awarded in each division. You may register as a single player or sign up as a twosome, threesome or foursome at a selected tee time. The earlier you register, the better.
The CSGA also awards a One Day Tournament Player of the Year in both the open and senior divisions, gross and net. Players will accumulate points based on their finishes in One Day tournaments throughout the season. A total of $4,000 in merchandise certificates donated by Chris Cote's Golf Shop will be awarded to the top three finishers in each division.
The One Day Series was created as an option to the CSGA's championship series to give players of varying abilities an opportunity to compete with friends in a professionally run event on some of the best courses in the state, many of them private. This year’s list of venues is particularly strong, including, in addition to Wethersfield: The Country Club of Waterbury, Stonington Country Club, The Golf Club at Oxford Greens, Twin Hills Country Club, Manchester Country Club, Tallwood Country Club, Topstone Golf Course, Gillette Ridge Golf Club, Indian Hill Country Club, Heritage Village Country Club, Hop Meadow Country Club and Ellington Ridge Country Club. Top competitors earn a spot in October’s Al Acker One Day Championship at Shennecossett Golf Course.
