(May 7, 2021) – For the last 20 years every time Tim Poloski sat down in his home office he saw the 7th hole at Pebble Beach. How could he miss it? The hole, in true bucket list fashion, was wallpapered onto his wall.
Late one-night last month while watching TV Poloski, a member at Tallwood Country Club, was scrolling through Instagram and saw the CSGA post advertising ‘The Bucket List Sweepstakes: Win a Dream Getaway to Pebble Beach!’ Without much thought, he became one of the 10,000+ entries and then forgot about it. One month later he received a phone call that would turn a bucket list trip into a confirmed plan.
“I was at work when I got the call,” Poloski said. “I am a Connecticut State Marshal so I am in my car all day and I got a call from the CSGA. I was in an upcoming One Day tournament so I just assumed it was about a tee time change or something. This was better!”
Immediately after finding out he had won Poloski called his wife Lynn because, “if I was going to wine country there was no way my wife wasn’t going.” Then he called golf buddy Bob Woble and invited him and his wife Kim along.
The plan quickly took shape, Tim and Bob would play golf at Pebble Beach and The Links at Spanish Bay, the two-course included in the package while also adding a round at Spy Glass Golf Course. While the husbands play golf the wives will enjoy the scenery of the area and then the couples will extend the trip and visit wine country.
Even as Poloski talked about other parts of the trip there was never a doubt as to what the highlight will be. “The overall experience [will be amazing] but the shot on No. 7,” said Poloski who has played in CSGA One Day events for nearly a decade. “That 7th hole is the one. I will be so nervous I will be lucky to make contact with the ball.”
Trips to Pebble Beach book up quickly so Poloski will have to wait until the end of this year or next year to officially cross Pebble off his bucket list but for now, he is just excited to be able to say that he is planning the trip.
“I am thrilled it really is a bucket list experience,” Poloski said. “I can’t wait to book the trip and get out there and I am very thankful to the CSGA for putting on the contest and very excited to have won!”
