Sherman, Connecticut (June 27, 2022) – Co-medalist Maxwell Jackson and Ian Davis along with Jack Chung earned spots into the 74th U.S. Junior Amateur Championship scheduled for July 25-30 at Bandon Dunes Golf Resort.
Maxwell and Davis both fired 2-under 70s to share the top spot at The Club at River Oaks. Maxwell played the first nine holes in 1-over 37 before catching fire on the back nine with a 3-under 33 that included four birdies and just one bogey. Overall Maxwell birdied five times on the day.
Ian Davis, who attends Montverde Academy in Florida, overcame an early double-bogey to solidify his spot in the U.S. Junior Amateur Championship field. 2-over after eight holes, Davis played the final 10 holes in 4-under.
The final spot on Monday went to Jack Chung. Tied with Will Huntington at 1-over 73 Chung was able to earn the final available spot in a 2-for-1 playoff. Huntington will be the first alternate with Josiah Hakala taking the second alternate spot.
