August 11, 2012 – Williamstown, Mass.
A team of seven outstanding junior golfers will represent Connecticut and the CSGA on August 13 and 14 in the New England Junior Championship. The 54-hole tournament is being played at Taconic Golf Club in Williamstown, Massachusetts. Recognized as one of the best golf courses in New England, and one of the top college courses in the country, Taconic is the home course of Williams College.
The New England Golf Association hosts the stroke play competition in which the team score is the sum of the low five of seven scores in each round. The six New England teams will play 36 holes on Monday and 18 on Tuesday to determine the champion. Massachusetts won the championship in 2011 in a rain-shortened event. Connecticut won in 2010 and has captured seven of the past eleven titles.
