(June 1, 2026) – On a chilly first day of June, Andrew Beauton and Rick Malafronte captured the titles at the Race Brook Country Club One Day Tournament presented by Chris Cote’s Golf Shop.
For the second straight week, in the Tettelbach Gross Division, Andrew Beauton walked away victorious. Beauton fired a 3-under 68 to earn a five-shot victory over Eric Bleile and Ben Day. Both of whom finished 2-over and in a tie for second.
Early in the round, it didn’t look like it would be Beauton’s day. Following two pars to begin his round, Beauton double-bogeyed No. 3 on his way to a 2-over 38 opening nine.
On the back nine, Beauton was a different golfer. Following two bogeys to finish his front nine, Beauton birdied Nos. 10 and 11 to return to level par and then added three more birdies on Nos. 13, 14, and 17. The result was a flawless 5-under 30 on the back nine that saw Beauton shoot to the top of the leaderboard.
The Tettelbach Gross Division was rounded out by Andrew Byron, Marc Delzio, Bret Lawrence, and Drew Brennan in a tie for fourth at 3-over.
Rick Malafronte, in the Siderowf Gross Division, posted a 1-over 72 to earn a three-shot triumph.
Beginning on No. 10, Malafronte was 2-under through his first six holes before taking a quad on No. 16 to tumble back to 2-over. The 2025 Senior Match Play winner remained at 2-over until back-to-back birdies on Nos. 7 and 8, his 16th and 17th holes of the day. Malafronte did drop a stroke on the final hole, but by then he had done more than enough to build a comfortable cushion.
Chet Hrostek, Keith Salamon, and Mike Fitzpatrick shared second place at 4-over while Dave Szewczul, Dave Jone, Eric Litke, and Dean Godek all posted 5-over to share fifth.
In the Tettelbach Net Division, Eric Verikas took the top spot at 2-under with Lawrence in second at even par.
Walter Keuchkerian II and Stephen Sokol were third at 1-over while Beauton, Delzio, Robb Swiatek, and Tim Steponski shared fifth at 2-over.
Leading the way in the Siderowf Net Division was Scott Weston (E), followed by four players in a tie for second at 1-over. The group was comprised of Salamon, Fitzpatrick, Paul Flament, and Malafronte.
