Brent Paladino Joins CSGA Staff

Rocky Hill, January 18, 2013

The Connecticut State Golf Association is pleased to announce that Brent Paladino of Kensington, Connecticut has been named Manager, Communications and Competitions for the CSGA. His responsibilities will include website, media and social media communications, assisting with the management of the CSGA One-Day Tournaments, and various other duties within the organization.

Paladino graduated from the College of William and Mary (Williamsburg, Virginia) in 2009 with a degree in Computer Science and a minor in Economics. At William and Mary, he captained their Division I golf team, and set individual school scoring records in twelve different categories. As an amateur golfer, he qualified for seven USGA Championships (three U.S. Amateur Championships and four U.S. Public Links Championships). In 2005 Paladino was runner-up in the CSGA State Open, and in 2007 he won the CSGA’s Russell C. Palmer Cup and was also named the 2007 CSGA Player of the Year.

Paladino comes to the CSGA after working the previous two years at New Haven Country Club as a Level 3 PGA Apprentice Professional. He is currently on track to earn his Class A PGA Certification later this year.

In addition to his playing career and his work at the club professional level, Paladino brings considerable tournament administration experience to the CSGA. For the past five years he has served as co-director of the Stan Trojanowski Northern Junior, a two-day junior golf tournament held each year at Ellington Ridge Country Club. The tournament, established in memory of Paladino’s grandfather, Stan Trojanowski, has risen in national prominence since its inception in 2001 by attracting some of the best junior golfers from New England and beyond. The tournament also awards the Ryan Lee Memorial Scholarship each year, given to a deserving boy or girl who aspires to play collegiate golf.

According to CSGA Executive Director, Mike Moraghan, “Brent Paladino is a great addition to our staff. He is a bright, energetic and enthusiastic young man who has a unique combination of skills and experience.  We couldn’t be happier in having Brent on our team at the CSGA.”

“I am thrilled to have this opportunity,” said Paladino, “My family and I have always had tremendous respect for the CSGA. To be part of this great organization and now to work for the CSGA really is a dream come true.”
