New for 2013: One Day Player of the Year Points Race sponsored by Chris Cote’s Golf Shop

The Connecticut State Golf Association is pleased to announce a new partnership with Chris Cote’s Golf Shop in Portland, Connecticut. For the first time, the One Day Tournament Series will include a separate “Player of the Year Points Race” for both Regular and Senior Divisions, Gross and Net. Players will accumulate points based on their finishes in One Day Tournaments throughout the season. A total of $3,000 in merchandise certificates to Chris Cote’s Golf Shop will be awarded to the One Day Player of the Year and Runner Up in each division.

The Player of the Year Points Race promises to add a new element of excitement to the series. “We expect this will be a fun and exciting year for golfers playing in our One Day Tournaments,” said Mike Moraghan, CSGA Executive Director. “We’re really happy to be playing so many outstanding golf courses, and to be partnering with Chris Cote’s Golf Shop for the 2013 season. The points race rankings will likely change after each event, and players will be able to see where they stand throughout the season. The players who play the most and play the best will have a really nice payoff at the end of the season.”

The first One Day Tournament of the season is set to begin Monday, April 15th at the Tradition Golf Club at Oak Lane. For more information and to register, click here.
