Madison, Connecticut (July 23, 2025) – On a gorgeous day at Madison Country Club the duo of Jeff and Jack Wise fired a 3-under 67 to capture the 89th Father Son Championship by a single shot over three other teams.
Among the last teams to tee off the Wises (TPC River Highlands) played a flawless round of golf on the always challenging Madison CC layout. Even-par through four holes, the duo birdied the par-4 fifth and the par-5 sixth back-to-back to get into the red.
Three holes later, after making the turn in 2-under 33, they added their third and final birdie of the day to the scorecard on the par-4 10th.
“We were pretty steady all day,” Jack Wise said. “We knew coming in that we trusted each other. We played great and we picked each other up when we needed to.”
Jack continued saying, “no shots stood out other than the five-footer on 18 that I left (my dad) for par.”
On this day, the putt proved to be no sweat as Jeff poured it in to secure the title and the bogey-free round.
“Last year we had a little misfortune on the 18th hole where we made bogey to come in second place,” explained Jeff Wise. “So this was a nice, little redemption for us. We played well, it was a pretty smooth round, no open holes, no bogeys, three birdies. And we both contributed perfectly.”
One shot back in a tie for second place at 2-under were past champions John/Bradley Sawka (Ellington Ridge CC), John (Aspetuck Valley CC)/Johnathan (Great River GC) Bushka, and Jim/John Abbott (Timberlin GC). The top-five was rounded out by three teams in a tie for fifth thanks to a level-par showing. Included in the T5 group are Thomas/Thomas Pellatt (Clinton CC), Geoffrey/Ian Manton (CC of Farmington), and Vin (Watertown GC)/Mani Capece (TPC River Highlands).
