Looking to create some separation early in the final round Filler parred the opening par-5 before jump starting her day with a four-foot birdie on No. 2 thanks to a flagged approach shot from 130 yards. Two pars followed before Filler stepped on the accelerator with back-to-back birdies on Nos. 5 and 6.

Following the round Filler highlighted her birdie on the 164-yard par-3 sixth that pushed her lead to four shots as the key moment in her round. “I hit a great iron shot to about 10 feet on No. 6 and made the putt,” said Filler who played in the U.S. Women’s Open last month. “That birdie just kept my momentum going into the next few holes and that definitely stood out to me.”

With momentum still on her side Filler converted another short birdie putt on the par-4 eighth to move to 9 under and following a par on No. 9 she made the turn in 4 under 32 and five shots clear of the field.

Filler did ease off the gas a bit on the homeward nine but she had done more than enough through the first nine holes of the day to cruise to victory.

“This win definitely gives me a lot of confidence,” said Filler. “I hit the ball really well and to make more birdies today gave me a lot of confidence heading into my next events the U.S. Women’s Amateur and stage one of LPGA Tour Qualifying School.”

In just her third year playing golf, Violett Robbins (EClub of Connecticut) finished with rounds of 74-67-72 to post 3 under and finish in solo second place. The Rollins College commit birdied three times and bogeyed three times during the final round.

Defending champion Arabella Lopez (Redding CC) finished 1 under and in third place thanks to a closing 1 under 71.

One shot further back at even par in a tie for fourth were Juyeon Paek (Lyman Orchards GC) and first round leader Yvette O’Brien (Greenwich CC).

Other division winners included Lopez (Junior Division), Filler (Mid-Amateur Division), Cheryl Ziebka (Senior Division), and Debbie Johnson (Super Senior Division).
