Farmington, Connecticut (May 12, 2025) – On a gorgeous day for golf at the Country Club of Farmington One Day Tournament presented by Chris Cote’s Golf Shop John Sawka and Glen Boggini emerged victorious.

Despite recent heavy rainfall, the CC of Farmington was in great shape, however wet conditions forced both the par-5 sixth and par-5 ninth to be played as par-3s.  Thus, par for the golf course was reduced from its normal 71 to 67.

In the Tettelbach Gross Division John Sawka tuned in a 1 over 68 to earn a two-shot triumph over Sam Powell (+3).

Final Results

Sawka had an up and down start to his day with two birdies and three bogeys in the first 11 holes before parring the final seven holes. For Sawka, his birdies came on the fourth and seventh holes.

Rounding out the top five in the Tettelbach Gross Division were Stephen Mikulski, Walter Keuchkerian II, and Raymond Greco. The group finished 4 over and in a tie for third.

Leading the way in the Siderowf Gross Divison was Glen Boggini. Less than a week after advancing through 45th U.S. Senior Open Local Qualifying, Boggini carded a 1 over 68 to earn a one-shot victory over runner-ups Bill Hermanson and Craig Platt.

Boggini found himself 2 over on his round after 11 holes but birdies on Nos. 11 and 12 moved the 2023 Senior Match Play winner back to level par. Despite a bogey on the challenging par-4 16th, Boggini was able to hang on for his first victory of the season.

Four players at 3 over tied for fourth to round out the top five. The group included Dan Ekstrom, Frank Geiger, Terry Ruzzo, and Chris Cote.

In the Tettelebach Net Division Keuchkerian II finished 5 under to claim the top spot. Sawka (-3) was second, Mikulski and Powell shared third at 1 under while in fifth it was the even-par John Sharkey.

Pacing the Siderowf Net Division was Ekstrom at 5 under with Mike Noel (-4) one shot back. Boggini, Mike Hilton, and Stephen McGillicuddy all shared third at 3 under to complete the top five.
