Newington, Connecticut (September 3, 2025) – On a spectacular early September day Bradley Sawka and Rick Malafronte captured the titles at the Indian Hill Country Club One Day Tournament sponsored by Chris Cote’s Golf Shop.

Bradley Sawka, the runner-up at the Connecticut Amateur and low amateur at the Connecticut Open, blitzed the field in the Tettelbach Gross Division earning a five-shot victory.

Final Results

Just days into the start of his junior year at UConn and in a race for Dick Tettelbach Player of the Year honors, Sawka got off to a quick start with birdies on two of his first three holes to quickly move to 2-under. A bogey followed on No. 6, but that was Sawka’s only blemish of the day as he played the final 12 holes in a bogey-free 5-under.

Overall, Sawka carded seven birdies against just one bogey on his way to a 6-under 66 and his third One Day victory of the year. In addition to his birdies on Nos. 1 and 3, he birdied Nos. 8, 11, 13, 14, 15, and 16.

Conor Deasy (-1) finished second, Greg Battison (E) was third, while  Raymond Greco, Adam Friedman, and Cody Paladino tied for third at 1-over.

Friedman is in second place in the Tettelbach Player of the Year standings while Paladino is in fourth.

Leading the way in the Siderowf Gross Division was Rick Malafronte. The Senior Match Play Championship winner early this year carded a 1-under 71 to earn a two-shot victory over four others.

Malafronte, currently in second place in the Dick Siderowf Player of the Year race, had a seesaw round that included six birdies and five bogeys. His birdies dropped on Nos. 1, 4, 6, 9, 10, and 16.

The second place group at 1-over included Glen Boggini, Brett Franklin, Paul Flament, and Shane Hassett.

Pacing the field in the Tettelbach Net Division was Giuseppe Mongelluzzo (-2), followed by Sawka, Battiston, and Deasy in second place at 1-under. Four others – Chris Szymonik, Kevin Klepacki, Dan Skoczylas, and Adam Pogorzelski – tied for fifth at even-par.
