NORWICH, CONN. (August 15th, 2013) – The team of Tom and Sean Hardiman of Lake of Isles Golf Club birdied the first playoff hole to capture the 77th Father & Son Championship. Conducted by the Connecticut State Golf Association, the Father & Son Championship is one of the state’s oldest championships and annually draws the best Father/Son teams from the state to compete in a Modified Alternate Shot format.
Playing in their first CSGA Championship as a team, the Hardiman’s fired a round of even par 71, which included a blistering 34 on the back nine. They birdied two of the last three holes, including the difficult par-3 18th, which put them in a three team playoff with the teams of Rob & Christopher Delucia and Ryan & CJ Karobiwcz. After Tom (Father) hit his approach shot to within five feet on the 1st playoff hole, Sean (son) calmly rolled in the putt for the victory.
Finishing in 2nd place was the team of Rob and Christopher Delucia of Norwich Golf Course, and finishing in 3rd was the team of Ryan and C.J. Karbowicz of Farmington Woods Country Club, both of whom also shot rounds of even par 71.
