(August 22, 2023) – Rick Lawrence won the Siderowf Gross Division while a trio of players shared the title in the Tettelbach Open Division at the Hunter Golf Club One Day Tournament presented by Chris Cote’s Golf Shop.
In the Tettelbach Open Divison Rammi Hazzaa, Kevin Klepacki, and Uttdom Sowinkong all signed for 3-over 74s to share first place.
Hazzaa’s round was highlighted by two birdies in a three-hole stretch early on the back nine. After making the turn in 4-over 39 Hazzaa carded birdies on Nos. 10 and 12.
Klepacki was 6-over for his round through 10 holes before catching fire down the stretch as he played the final eight holes in a bogey-free 3-under. His birdies came on Nos. 11, 14, and 17.
Sowinkong, the final member of the lead group, played the back nine in a flawless 1-under 35 with his only birdie of the day coming on the 371-yard par-4 13th.
Chuck Csejka (+5) finished fourth while Sathscia Sowinkong, Ron Soccoli, and Elvin Lorenzo all shared fifth at 7-over.
In the Siderowf Gross Division Rick Lawrence, who shot his age, fired the round of the day, a 1-over 72, to win by one shot over Frank Geiger (+2).
Lawrence, a One Day Tournament winner for the third time this year, played a steady round of golf that included two birdies and three bogeys. Following consecutive bogeys on Nos. 16 and 17, Lawrence converted his final birdie of the day on the closing 455-yard par-5. His birdie on the last proved to be the tournament winner.
Shawn McLoughlin (+5) in third, Doan Nguyen (+6) in fourth, and Richard Stevens (+7) in fifth rounded out the top five.
In the Tettelbach Net Division Klepacki (-1) led the way followed by Hazzaa (E) in second, Uttdom Sowinkong (+2) in third, and Lorenzo (+3) in fourth. The top five was concluded by Sathscia Sowinkong and Adam Pogorzelski in a tie for fourth at 4-over.
Larry Jardine (-4) led the way in the Siderowf Net Division followed by second place finisher Thomas Clukey (-1). Lawrence and Geiger shared third at even-par while Paul Reynolds, Dominic Maselli, and McLoughlin shared fifth at 1-over.
