Newington, Connecticut (May 1) – Rammi Hazzaa and Glen Boggini were the only players to finish under par at the Indian Hill Country Club One Day Tournament sponsored by Chris Cote’s Golf Shop.
Rammi Hazzaa put together a 1-under 71 to earn a one-shot victory in the Tettelbach Gross Division over John Murphy III and Patrick Griffin both of whom finished even-par and tied for second place.
Hazzaa started slowly and after 13 holes he was 3-over. However, over the last five holes, he was a different player converting birdies on Nos. 14, 16, 17, and 18 to storm to the top of the leaderboard.
The top five in the Tettelbach Gross Division was rounded out by Richard Marino (+1) in fourth and Shawn Hilario (+2) in fifth.
Glen Boggini did all of his work early on his way to a 1-under 71 finish that earned him the Siderowf Gross Division title. Boggini came out of the gates firing as he put together a flawless 4-under 32 on the front nine with birdies on Nos. 1, 2, 7, and 9.
The defending Senior Match Play winner, who will be looking to repeat at Indian Hill CC next month, did falter with three back nine bogeys but his early play was enough to sustain his spot atop the leaderboard.
Jeff Wise, Dave Jones, and James Lawler all tied for second at level par while Brian Geary, Randy Rizy, Ken Parisi, and Stuart Goldstein shared fifth at 1-over.
In the Tettelbach Net Division Bryce Cote (-3) earned the top spot followed by Hazzaa, Marino, and John Swaney in a 2-under tie for second. Murphy III was third with a 1-under tally.
Capturing the victory in the Siderowf Net Division was Jeff Wise (-4) with Lawler (-1) in second place. Dan Ekstrom, Boggini, and Bruce Kraczkowsky all tied for third at even-par.
