The Senior Match Play moves to Torrington Country Club in 2021. A frequent site of CSGA majors since the 1940s, Torrington Country Club most recently hosted the 2019 Connecticut Open won by Rasmey Kong. Senior Match Play defending champion Dave Szewczul will be seeking his sixth victory in the 15th edition of the event set to be played from June 22-25.
Torrington CC, designed by New Britain golf architect Orrin Smith, opened in 1929 and plays as a 6,700-yard par 72 layout. After an opening par-4, players will have an opportunity to make an early move in their match on the par-5 2nd hole. The closing three holes offer a variety of challenges. No. 16 is a par-5 offering players a birdie opportunity, the 17th is a long par-3, all setting up the dramatic par-4 closing hole that climbs drastically uphill towards the clubhouse.

The format of the Senior Match Play will change slightly in 2021. Historically 16 players have advanced to match play from stroke-play qualifying, however, this year 32 players will advance to match play.
