(May 8, 2023) – With the winds gusting at the Torrington Country Club One Day presented by Chris Cote’s Golf Shop home course advantage paid dividends.

In the Tettelbach Open Division Brent Silano and Patrick Casey, both playing on their home course, shared the title with even-par 72s.

Silano, 3-over at the turn, played a stellar back nine firing a 3-under 33 that was highlighted by an eagle on the par-5 12th to go along with a pair of birdies.

Final Results

Casey, who reached the Round of 16 at the Connecticut Amateur last year, played a steady round of golf birdieing Nos. 2 and 4 with his only blemish of the day coming on the par-3 11th where he double-bogeyed.

Chris Davidson, also a member at Torrington CC, finished third at 3-over while Conor Deasy and Andrew Cavasino shared fourth at 4-over.

Cavasino had the shot of the day with an ace on the par-3 third knocking in a 7-iron from 174 yards.

Leading the way in the Siderowf Gross Division was Eric Litke with a 2-over 74. Litke had a seesaw round with three birdies and five bogeys. His birdies came on Nos. 4, 6, and 12.

Former Torrington CC member Ray Underwood finished second at 6-over with James Arconti, Torrington CC member Dale Dirk, and James Brennan sharing third at 7-over.

The Tettelbach Net Division was won by a trio of players at even par. Included in the group were Donny Annicelle, Silano, and Casey. Ken Libby (+1) was fourth while Davidson and Deasy shared fifth at 2-over.

In the Siderowf Net Division Litke and Stephen Johnson tied for first at level-par finishing two strokes in front of a three-way tie for third. The 2-over group included Roger Dinallo, Carl Musante, Brennan, and Tim Daly.
