(February 27, 2026) – This year, the 92nd Connecticut Open will take place at the Country Club of Fairfield from July 27-29. Ahead of this year’s championship, we took a look at the previous two Connecticut Opens hosted by the club. Both of them wins by Kyle Gallo.

2010 – KYLE GALLO
In a battle between two Berlin natives, Kyle Gallo and Cody Paladino, it was Gallo who prevailed. Gallo, who led by as many as six shots in the final round, saw his lead at one point trimmed to three shots as play headed for the back nine. However, a birdie on the par-5 10th by Gallo put the tournament to bed.
Following his record-tying fourth Connecticut Open victory, Gallo spoke to the Hartford Courant about the victory and how it was a relief to break through again after a number of recent close calls.
“It’s nice to get the monkey off my back. To win it four times. I’m very proud of it right now.”
Gallo (1998, 2000, 2004, 2010) matched John Golden, who won his four Connecticut Open titles in consecutive years from 1932 to 1935. Henry Ciuci won the first Connecticut Open in 1931 before Golden won the next four.
Cody Paladino was competing as an amateur in 2010. In 2015, he won the Connecticut Open as a professional.
2000 – KYLE GALLO
Kyle Gallo won the 1998 Connecticut Open as an amateur. In 2000, he was looking for his first title as a professional.
Trailing entering the 36-hole final day, Gallo rallied with a pair of 69s to finish two shots clear of runner-up Frank Bensel.
Bensel would later go on to win three Connecticut Open titles of his own. He is tied for the second-most titles in tournament history.
